St. John Vianney Retired Priests Residence

The St. John Vianney Priest Residence is a retirement facility for aging priests in the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham. The project included the complete renovation of an existing two-story 1960’s building and a new one-story addition, totaling 8,000SF of living space. The project includes nine private suites as well as community spaces, such as a chapel and courtyard. The chapel reflects a modern interpretation of the calming experience of stainedglass windows found in traditional cathedrals, creating an inviting place for prayer and meditation. The courtyard also provides a place of reflection, with its lush landscapes and brick paving. The project is currently pending Silver Certification for LEED for Homes.
