Poole & Company worked closely with the Arab school system to design a new rehearsal space to fit the needs of the band department. The project included a main rehearsal space, practice rooms, ensemble room, director’s office and storage for instruments and uniforms. Acoustics were an integral part of the design process to ensure quality sound control, implemented by the size and proportions of the band room as well as applied materials. Selection of durable maintainable materials was of great importance for a school setting, especially when considering life-cycle costs.
